Jay Gibbons starts his homerun march of Part II of the 2002 season! He hit 2 dingers in this game, driving in 5 runs, (a two-run shot off Lidle in the third inning and a three-run homer in the fifth). Gibby did his "first pitch" thang.... he is now .469 on the first pitch, and has 10 homers with 19 RBI. The O's got three runs in the third on an RBI double by Tony Batista and then the two-run homer by Gibbons.

But I think the O's were so frustrated by the last few games, and Gibby's been frustrated, and when they all get frustrated they leap on a pitcher that they can take advantage of. I guess Lidle was that guy.

R-Lo didn't have his best game, but luckily the bats came alive. (Well, Gibby's bat.)
