Lidle silenced all of his critics tonight with a one hit gem against the Texas Rangers 10-0.
Homeruns by John Mabry, Hatteburg, & Tejada helped with the offensive outburst.

Lidle pitched a one-hitter, allowing only Juan Gonzalez's leadoff double in the eighth inning, as Oakland beat the Texas Rangers 10-0 Friday night.

On a night when he might have been pitching for his job, Lidle (3-8) had the best game of his career. He faced the minimum 21 batters through seven innings and finished with his first major league shutout, and sent Texas to its season-high seventh straight loss.

After winning just once in his previous 12 starts, Lidle was nothing short of masterful. He got within six outs of the 11th no-hitter in franchise history.

Lidle, who won a career-best 13 games last season as the fourth wheel to Oakland's powerful Big Three, had struggled this summer. He doesn't have Mark Mulder's heat, Barry Zito's curve or Tim Hudson's control, but he was just as good as his teammates in his second career complete game.
