Draft is Wednesday. Hopefully i can make it! If anyone still wants to join, ask and i'll send you the info. If you have problems getting in, tell me and i'll see what i can do. And if any members want anything changed, feel free to tell me while you can. I'm still looking into Hyzdu's suggestions.

Here are the changes I suggested ...
I think two TEs are too much. Most teams have trouble finding one, let alone too.
Also, I don't like the three defensive backs idea. I think those are too many too. Very few defensive backs have much value in fantasy football. I'd maybe require one defensive back and change those extra two spots to just defense.

I was surprised to see the draft day, too. Josh, I'm the Honolulu Blues in honor of the Lions primary color and their recent "success". I couldn't come up with a Steelers related name I liked more. (Kendrell) Bell Ringers was my second choice. What's your team name?
As for your changes, I guess I think DBs are equally as valuable as linemen. Sure, they get sacks, but DBs get INTs. Those are more likely to lead to scores. Their tackles might counter-balance. I really thought there were too many DLs, but that's just me.
I completely agree about TEs. I really think that's the only thing that defintely should be altered. Personally, I would have liked a back-up QB, instead. I'm playing regardless. Good luck to all.

Hey Brian. My team name is the Steelers. I like the Bell Ringers name though, wish I could have been that creative.
I kinda thought the Honolulu Blues team was yours with the bambinos Yahoo name, but wasn't sure.
DBs do collect INTs and lineman do get the sacks. I don't know the number, but I'd say there were 2X more sacks than INTs.
I agree Tigers did a great job. Everything else is a-ok. For me to only find two potential flaws, the league had to have been set up well. :biggrin:

I went ahead and dropped a tight end, but i'm still deciding on the defence. I've got 2 defencive players, 3 DL's, and 3 DB's. I kind of wanted to keep them the same. I can also change how much the point total for a sack or interception if needed. I'm also thinking of adding a QB. I still want to here from everyone.

$hit! I'm going to miss the draft Wednesday, because i've got to work overtime. I won't be home till 6:00, at the earliest, and the draft starts at 5:30. I might make part of it though.

Crap, I missed the draft.
Team doesn't look too bad, but the defense is lousy.

You are right, it must have been just you. I tried to get the draft board to work for probably over thirty minutes. By the time I finally got in, the draft was almost over.
As I knew I would be there for the draft, (did I mention I just wasted a half hour of vacation to stare at a blank screen?), I didn't alter the TSN ratings. BIG mistake. I HATE my team. I would NEVER have taken some of these guys. Well, I have learned a valuable lesson, always change the TSN rankings.
Unless I can make some dramatic changes, which I realize is unlikely, I'm mailing this season in. How soon can I begin to cut players, #1? Sorry, wish I could be more positive, but I not only have wasted my time, but I can't stand this group even if they win.

I actually don't think I did too bad, the defense SUCKS though.
If I had made the draft none of the players on the defense would be there, nor Glenn.
Don't quit yet, Brian ... there's a lot of talent left and you have the #1 waiver priority.

I'm not sure how the defencive ratings were set, but they were all out of order. The only guy on my defence who i've heard of was Allen Rossum. I found a few though in free agency. I can't complain though, i've got Peyton Manning, Marshall Faulk, and Randy Moss.

Well, now that I've calmed down and looked everything over, I feel a little better. Oh, most of my team still stinks, but as everyone has metioned these defensive ratings were horrible. I am hoping to be able to assemble a slightly more impressive unit.
How does this D, DL, DB thing work anyway? Why are LBs and DL combined? Are the D guys any defensive position? We all seem to have one DB spot listed as empty, why is that? How many "points" are awarded for the various categories? How soon can I make changes and can I make them in bunches, just like in baseball?
I do have some hope now of putting together a crappy team that, at least, I like. I guess I know how Millen and Dombrowski feel now.

All DL, + LB, and CB, and S are linked together, so it's less confusing(i guess:confused: ). It's just coincidece that we all have DB open, more DL's were "rated" higher. You'll have to look at the points for all the stats. There are too many for me to remember. You can make changes to your team ASAP. It takes like 2 days for them to be official though. The defencive ratings were stupid. Just find free agents to add to your team.
I came out pretty dam good, I spent about 3 hours trying to put together my list. I knew I wasnt going to be around yesterday. Anyways, good luck. Of btw, this is my first fantasy football league. Any advice? Or how does this work? Do I go against everyone in the league or just who they say Im up against? Also, does the bench get points to for when they play?

I'll pass on that trade, my defense is stacked already, and I have no need for McNair. But what would you want for brown?

I could use some defensive help.
Team name is The Steelers. I'd trade Brunell, a HB, and/or a tight end for some defense.

I haven't even heard of anyone on my defense except for O'Neal, Coakley, and Barton. I saw Young play last night but that was the first time I heard of him.
How about Glover and Young for Sharpe and ??
Its not that I dont want to, I want this fantasy thing to be fun for everyone, Im just afraid that Seymour is going to get hurt, he got hurt last year......but Ill definately give you Glover or Young.
Young has been one of the best DL's out there. Hes talents is pretty up to par wit Glover and Sapp.

Young once was good, but he's 30 years old and probably won't be the player he once was. As a defensive lineman he is still one of the better ones, but since in this league a DL can be a linebacker (which will give me more value), Young isn't worth that much.
I'm not too keen on trading Sharpe, though I would if the package was right. There are very few solid TEs, and I got lucky and have one of the better ones, so I'm inclined to hold onto him.
I have a couple of waiver requests in, we'll see how that goes. If they all fall through, I'll probably trade Sharpe for Glover. For right now I'll stand pat.

I dont mind Sehorn for Brady, but I dont want to sound like some a$$hole, so Im willing to give you Bruce too, only cuz you dont really have anyone. Anyone interested in trading me for anyone of these players, I can only do one trade, cuz I still need a back up. Theres some great QB's this year. And alot of duds...like Warner and Stewart. But anyways, I believe Warner will pick it up....but I dont know about Stewart. Anyways, let me know.
