Big FA pickups!

Tonight a guy in my league released several big names. I dropped Berg and picked up Ventura, dropped Osuna and picked up Higginson and dropped Driskill and picked up Pineiro. He dropped Mondesi, Rivera and Pierzynski but I'm not sure if I should get them as well. Any thoughts?

Me? Cheating? Not likely. In order to do that you have to have a decent team in the first place. :biggrin:
I would appreciate any thought of getting Pierzynski, Mondesi or Rivera. I was most likely thinking about Pierzynski because he's actually on a team that can win and I would drop Phelps who's on a really awful team.

I wold get Riveria but I would hesitate getting him though might want to see if he will go on the DL. I don't know too much aboutt Pierzynski:biggrin: sorry:)

With Wickman on the DL I was considering getting Shuey who's a FA and dropping Driskill. I figured that since I now have Pineiro I wouldn't use Driskill much anyway and Shuey would pick up the slack by getting a few saves. What do you guys think?

-KoZ no not you the person just dropping his players. I would pick up both Mondesi and Rivera. Def. Rivera but Pierzynski.. it depends probably is better then your catcher but I dont know.

If he (Rivera) goes on the DL then just put him on the DL spot.

I'm liking Pierzynski mainly because my catcher Josh Phelps is still a rookie and cold turn cold anytime. Still I'm not sure. If I got Mariano Rivera I would have to drop Escobar who I haven't used in a month anyway so no loss there. Now Mondesi I'm not sure about. He has the power but he's only batting .220 so if I did get him I'd have to drop someone like Gutierrez.

yeah he has an average low but his average should go up now that he is Yankee.

Those I haven't taken, Pierzynski, Mondesi and Rivera are up for grabs tomorrow when the waiver is ended. So I guess I'll have to make some choices pretty soon. As long as Rivera doesn't go on the DL or at least not for long it might be better than picking up Shuey. I don't know though. Decisions, decisions.

Looks like I missed out on Pineiro. Apparently another guy in my league signed him while he was on the WW a few hours before I did. Oh well. Same crappy pitchers. Nothing changes.
