The New York Mets acquired pitchers Jason MiddleBrook and Steve Reed from the San Diego Padres for pitchers Bobby Jones and Josh Reynolds and outfielder Jason Bay.
Reed's a great releiver, and Middlebrook has potential to be a good releiver. I still like what San Diego gets though. The 2 Bobby Jones's are together again, and both prospects have potential.

Excellent move:) Reed gives Valentine a more reliable and an experienced arm for the pen. After yesterday's debacle i hope either Corey or Komiyama get sent down (In komiyama's case take the red eye to japan)
a huge reason the bullpen was over worked was because Bobby V was forced to over use Weathers and Strickland because he had no trust in corey or Blowmiyama
Guthrie was starting to be over used over the last few weeks as well and now hopefully Reed can take some of the load of Weathers Guthrie and Strickland
Great move or only a few scrub minor leaguers
Middlebrook:confused: who cares he is going to the minors anyway
