View Full Version : I have an avatar, but can't get it to work.

I have tried to use a custom avatar by loading it from my computer. I go through all the steps, and it seems like it is working and then it just keeps giving me the sign that it is still working on something. It never actually finishes. Any ideas for me?

Maybe the file size is too big to place on the site. Is the image file on your hard drive? If so, could you please attach it to this thread by using the "attach file" option at the bottom of your reply screen.

I'll take a look at it for you.

Also, another thing pointed out by Hurricane is that you might not have enough posts to have an avatar, it may be 75...so, get posting!!! :)

I don't think it is too big, but maybe you can tell me if it really is or not. I appreciate the help. By the way, the avatar screen says you have to have 50 posts before you can get an avatar. Anyway, here it is, I think so anyway...

Or not. Actually I just checked it out and it is way too big. I will try something else. Thanks for the help though!

I would really love to have a good picture of Stevie Ray Vaughan for my avatar. Any idea how that can be accomplished? What I have been trying to use was a picture from a cd I have. I tried scanning it, but it was like 1800 x 2100 pixels.

Thanks a lot Pirate Nut. I am trying to use the one you posted. The one I wanted to use was the back of the Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble CD I have. The same picture is on the artwork when you fold it out, but without the song titles on it like it is on the back. If you can't do it without too much work, just scrap the idea. I like this one enough that if you can't get that one, I will still be very happy. Thanks again!

I just ried using the one you sent me, but it said it is just over 8000 somethings. This is getting way over my head. I am trying to get the hang of this, but it is frustrating. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Chris

It's cool to see another SRV fan here. I just thought I'd post this pic - it wouldn't really make a good avatar - but it makes an awesome tiled background for your 'puter screen.
