Michael Tejera made short work of the Milwaukee Brewers, and for good reason -- he didn't want to be late to his own wedding.

Pitching only a few hours before getting married, Tejera threw seven shutout innings as the Florida Marlins won 7-2 Sunday.

``I didn't plan to get married on the same day that I pitched, but it just worked out that way,'' Tejera said.

``To tell you the truth, I didn't think about getting married during the game. I just tried to stay focused,'' he said.

Tejera, 25, left Pro Player Stadium to wed his girlfriend of seven years, Michelle Garrido of Miami.

In other NL games, Russell Branyan hit three home runs as Cincinnati outlasted San Diego 15-10 and Barry Bonds hit his 598th career homer as San Francisco beat Pittsburgh 10-5.

Also, Atlanta edged St. Louis 2-1, Arizona beat New York 12-7, Houston edged Montreal 5-4, Los Angeles downed Philadelphia 4-3 and Chicago beat Colorado 4-1.

Tejera gave up four hits and struck out six, winning for the sixth time in his last nine starts.

The Marlins made it easy for Tejera. Mike Lowell and Derrek Lee hit consecutive homers, and Kevin Millar also homered.

Millar homered for the second straight game in going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. He had been in a 2-for-20 slump before getting three hits Saturday.

``You don't get into a funk in one day, and you don't get out of it in one day,'' he said. ``It takes time. I hate sitting on the bench, because that'swhen you think about how you have to take charge of your opportunities.''
