Minnesota Twins pitcher Eric Milton was placed on the 15-day disabled list today after an MRI revealed a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee. Milton will undergo surgery Thursday to repair the damage and be sidelined four to five weeks. He injured his knee while warming up prior to last night's scheduled start against the Orioles. The Twins recalled Juan Rincon from Triple-A Edmonton to take Milton's open roster spot. Johan Santana will take over for Milton in the rotation.

Yet another hurdle for the AL Central-leading Twins, but they've only had their top five starting pitchers healthy at the same time for about five minutes this season. Considering the Twins' massive lead in the division, however, his absence will be felt even more by fantasy players who were relying on him down the stretch. If you act quickly though you may still have time to pick up Santana, who has been dominant at times this season in his swin! gman role.
