OMG!!! that was just an AMAZING catch by Long to rob Manny of a game-winning homer! :uhoh:

-Wasn't that AMAZING! The entire Red Sox dugout was staring in disbeleif...the look on Manny's face....PRICELESS!!!

Thats the second straight game that ended with a truely unbelievable defensive play.
Yesterday, Eric Chavez finished off the game with a great stab of a Manny shot down the left field line that woulda been at least a double, then the longest throw you make from an infield position that beat Manny to 1st base by a half a step.
Espn doug out the archives and found a simular play made by Brooks Robinson and compared the two.
Radio announcer Bill Kings call of the Tarence Long catch is being repayed overe and over on the local stations.

That was an awesome catch. Defensive plays can not get more clutch than that.

No, not outfielders. He's just not what the A's want in a centerfielder. They like him in the OF, but they wanna move him to left.
