CLEVELAND (AP) - The Cleveland Indians activated closer Bob Wickman from the disabled list Saturday and optioned right-hander Sean DePaula to Triple-A Buffalo.

Wickman was sidelined with a strained muscle in his right forearm. It was his first stint on the disabled list in 11 major league seasons.

``The rest seems to have worked,'' Wickman said. ``I threw hard in the bullpen on Thursday and felt just fine. I'm eager to get back and help the team.''

The right-hander, who also has pitched for the New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers, is 0-3 with a 4.59 ERA and 20 saves in 22 chances this season.

DePaula, 23, went 1-1 with a 12.79 ERA in five outings for Cleveland after being recalled from Buffalo on July 20.
