Tests on Posada's sore knee are negative
August 13, 2002

New York (AP) — Yankees catcher Jorge Posada is day to day after an MRI exam on his sore left knee came back negative.

Posada, hitting .265 with 19 homers this season, has not played since catching all 16 innings of New York’s 3-2 loss to Oakland on Friday night.

Chris Widger has played in Posada’s absence for the Yankees, who were off Monday and play at Kansas City on Tuesday night.

Posada, who turns 31 on Saturday, signed a $51 million, five-year contract in February.

I didn't really either, I just knew something was wrong because Widger started a couple days in a row.

does Ventura have a sore knee too? i know he hit knees with an A in that 16-inning fiasco and Coomer started a couple games, but i haven't heard anything since.
