MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota Twins relief pitcher LaTroy Hawkins was ejected from Friday night's game against the Boston Red Sox for not moving his chair in the bullpen.

Hawkins became irate, rushing umpire Tim Tschida before being restrained by several teammates and escorted from the field.

For the first few innings, Hawkins sat in the Minnesota bullpen along the third-base line with his chair tilted toward the mound, away from the stands.

Tschida, the second base umpire, approached Hawkins in the middle of the third inning and asked him to move his chair, but the reliever refused.

An animated discussion ensued before Tschida ejected Hawkins, who would not comment after the game.
