PHOENIX (AP) -- The Cincinnati Reds recalled right-hander Chris Reitsma from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, and he will start the series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday.
Right-hander Elmer Dessens was scheduled to start that game, but he will remain on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin. Reds manager Bob Boone said Dessens' start would be pushed back to next Tuesday against St. Louis.
Reitsma was 4-8 with a 3.41 ERA with Cincinnati before being optioned to Louisville on July 31.
The Reds also recalled right-hander Luke Hudson from Louisville and optioned right-hander Jared Fernandez to Triple-A.
Right-handed reliever John Riedling was placed on the 15-day DL with a strained right groin. Riedling is 1-2 with a 2.55 ERA in 22 appearances for the Reds.
Earlier in the day, Cincinnati signed outfielder Jose Guillen to a minor league contract. Guillen, who hit .229 in 54 games with Arizona this season, will replace outfielder Raul Gonzalez on the Louisville roster.
Gonzalez was sent to the New York Mets as part of the deal that brought left-hander Shawn Estes to Cincinnati.
