CINCINNATI (AP) -- Reds rookie outfielder Austin Kearns pulled his left hamstring while running out a grounder Tuesday night and was probably headed for the 15-day disabled list.

Kearns extended his hitting streak to a season-high 13 games with an RBI single in the second. He hit first base hard while running out a groundout in the fifth, and limped off the field.

The Reds planned to put Kearns on the disabled list following the game, the first of a doubleheader.

Kearns, 22, could become the first rookie to lead the Reds in hitting since Grady Hatton batted .271 in 1946. Kearns leads the Reds with a .314 average, and has 13 homers and 57 RBIs in 107 games.
