I saw this posted at a few sites. I hope everything is ok with the Cook family.
PHILADELPHIA (TICKER) -- Philadelphia Phillies lefthander Dennis Cook was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday due to personal reasons that have limited him to one outing since he was acquired from the New York Mets.
Cook was disabled retroactive to July 30 due to undisclosed reasons. He has been in his home state of Texas for a week.
Since being acquired July 27, Cook has pitched once, retiring the only batter he faced in a 6-5 loss to the Mets on July 29. He was obtained with Turk Wendell to fill holes in the bullpen, but the Phillies are just 3-6 since the move.
Cook is 1-1 with a 4.21 ERA in 44 games this season.
Taking Cook's roster spot is lefthander Eddie Oropesa, who was recalled from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre of the Class AAA International League. He is 1-0 with a 6.14 ERA in 20 relief outings for the Phils this season.
