Can you believe they suspended Ted Lilly for 6 games? He didn't even get thrown out of the game and now their gonna suspend him for 6 games? I really believe he'll beat the appeal but give me a break!
The Yankees got hit 7out of the last 8 games prior to this and lost Scotty for 4 weeks due to getting hit and their going to suspend Lily? I believe a message needed to be sent! You throw at us, we're going to throw at you! But of course, we get a suspension out of it!:eviltongu

Lily threw at the guys head! how do you expect him not to be suspended? He may not have been ejected but what he did was wrong and I really hope someone beans him in the head if he ever gets a chance to bat, he is starting to learn these low and dirty plays from Clemens and i was happy to see he got bombed last night and i was praying a ball bounced off someones bat and hit him right in the nose:eviltongu

lets go yankees ;)

I don't think he should of hit him in the head! He said he wasn't aiming at his head, but I do think he should have hit him! Like I said 7 out of the last 8 previous games we were hit, a message needed to be sent. Jeter wasn't leaning in over the palte and got hit in the hand, and it could have turned out just like Scotty. Being that nobody retaliated for Scotty breaking his hand maybe other teams thought this was a way to get rid of some of the better players.

But as I said, if Lily was aiming at his head, I too, would be very dissappointed with him cuz I think he's got the potential to be a good pitcher and I pray that he's not being influenced by Loser-Boy Clemens!
So if you get suspended for hitting a guy in the head, why wasn't Clemens suspended last year with the whole Piazza thing? To this day I DO believe that WAS intentional!

Lilly got what he deserved. He intentionally hit Spiezio, although I don't think he was aiming at his head.

I hope Lilly learns from this. He sure better.

I also agree he should have been suspended but as Kel pointed out, you do this for 1 you have to do it for all pitchers...And who's decision is it if it is considered intentional or not?? After all, Lilly wasn't even ejected from the game and the Umps supposedly have been instructed to throw any pitcher out of a game that they feel has intentionally hit a batter right??
I also think that the suspension will be reduced.....Again, Robinson needs to be fair on all accounts...If he is gonna suspend 1 he needs to suspend them all and the same amount of games....
I personally think Selig and Robinson are both out of control....:hmm:

Thanks James, I agree, If your gonna suspend him suspend the rest of them. Hell, Clemens didn't even get a slap on the wrist and we all know that was intentional!

He only misses one start and with El Duque almost ready to come back, I'm not suprised.
Misha you never have to duck and run out of here, you know that!Shooosh!
