Giambi hit by pitch, leaves game with bruised right wrist

New York (AP) — Yankees slugger Jason Giambi left Thursday night’s game with a bruised right wrist after being hit by a pitch against Baltimore.
X-rays were negative, and Giambi was day to day.
Giambi was hit in the first inning by Sean Douglass. Giambi struck out to end the second, and John Vander Wal pinch-hit for him in the fifth.
Giambi is hitting .307 with 36 home runs and 111 RBIs in his first season with the Yankees.
