Now that the Sept. call-ups are playing everyday, I must say that I have been impressed with what I have seen. Starter Brian Tallet looked very good throwing 6 great innings in his debut against the Bo-Sox, granted with most of their stars on the bench, but he still looked good. Ricardo Rodriguez hasn't been as great as Tallet, but he has shown flashes of greatness as well. 2nd year starter Sabathia has looked very good his last 4 or 5 starts and could finally emerge as the #1 starter next year.
Coco Crisp has been good defensively in center, but he is struggling at the plate. Brandon Phillips has looked marvelous at second, alas, he is also struggling hitting. Catchers Josh Bard and Victor Martinez have both been solid. And finally, Karim Garcia has been sensational and may win the starters job in right next season.
I'm not saying the Tribe will contend next season, although that would be great, but in 2004, when more youngsters come up, the Tribe will be quite good.
