Both of these guys are free agents after this season and there is alot of talk that the mets are interested in Barry Bonds, now in my opinion Alou is a better hitter and hits for average and also has some power, Bonds is a great power hitter but he is a big choker in big moments, i think it would be better if the mets sign Alou who is at this point in his career a better hitter, but my guess is that the mets owners want to make money so they will be stupid and sign Bonds who is not worth all the money he is going to get

Yeah I agree....
I love Bonds but Alou is 2 years younger and although may not have as many HR's as Bonds but he is still a 30-40 HR guy and knocks in as many runs as Bonds...Plus he is a better average hitter and probably demand less money than Bonds..Overall I think Alou would be the better player for this team...

Nah, it doesn't bother me.....
He has been fine this year and besides the freak injury in 99 and then injured last year he has played at least 146 games since 96...I think he will be ok....

I agree James it doesnt bother me either about his injuries , this year he missed maybe a week in the beggining but has been on fire ever since comming back and he's puts up big numbers every year since his freak accident which won't happen again, but im all for average hitters with power , Bonds will hit some bombs but so will Alou and he'll give you hit after hit not just homers and a bunch of strikeouts , plus if he gets injured for awhile you can throw in benny or shinjo and use them as they are supposed to be used, as bench players
Also if injured he will still put up better numbers than the entire met outfield combined
Furthermore, in the arguement that Enron could easily have inflated his #s... check out his home/away stats.
He's been nasty just about everywhere..
