Did you guys hear? The A's owner said if the Red Sox want Billy Beane, they'll have to give me their whole team and cash.

GREAT! Sounds like a deal to me. Take our losers....please!:clap2:

Why wouldn't we want to just keep Mike Port? He seems to have all his shit together.

I like Mike. I think he's gonna end up with the job, since no-one else is giving us permission to talk to anyone else.

You spoke too quickly! ESPN says that MLB gave Omar Minaya permission to speak to the Sox.

I didn't consider Omar a viable option. He's simply the minority that they're obligated to interview.

Why not? Omar knows his stuff. He was head of the Mets' foreign scouting. He's the guy who brought us Edgardo Alfonzo and Jose Reyes. He's very bright and very capable.

I don't know a whole lot about him Jules. I know the Sox are looking for a young guy, someone to "mold" Theo Eppstein.

Omar's young. Mid-30s at most.

I agree, any organization would be lucky to get Omar...

He's very bright and has a great eye for young talent....

This Beane thing could still have legs. Billy gave an interview saying how upset he was at the poor attendance during the season and playoffs. He ranted about how he has done everything to make the A's good, and nobody cares. Interesting.

I'm still unsure if he's the right guy for Boston.
