Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Phillies placed reliever Ricky Bottalico on the 15-day disabled list Friday with soreness in his right shoulder.
Bottalico, who said he has been experiencing pain in the shoulder for the last week to 10 days, is 2-4 with a 3.98 ERA and two saves in a club-high 38 games this season.
To fill the reliever's spot on the roster, the team recalled 39-year-old Ed Vosberg from Triple-A Scranton. Vosberg had been sent to the farm club in between games of Thursday's doubleheader to make room for starter David Coggin, but never left the Philadelphia area.
Vosberg has not allowed a hit or run in seven of his eight appearances this season. He is 0-0 with 6.35 ERA.
