Welcome to Rally Monkey.com,
The first question everyone asks is "How did it all start?"
The legend of the Rally Monkey began June 6, 2000 as the Anaheim Angels were losing to the San Francisco Giants. Video crew members were pulling out all the stops in their attempt to whip up some crowd support.
They came across a video clip from the 1994 hit movie "Ace Ventura, Pet Detective," staring Jim Carrey, that showed a monkey jumping up and down. They superimposed the words "Rally Monkey" over it and flashed it on the JumboTron. The crowd roared.
The Angels rallied, scoring two runs in the last inning to win.
Before long, the Angels needed their own monkey and hired Katie, the white-face capuchin monkey featured on "Friends," to film a series of new Rally Monkey promos. Katie filmed a series of spots including the standard "Jump Around" clip that is now shown. She also filmed the legendary "Believe in the Power of the Rally Monkey" clip.
Since then, the Rally Monkey has been superimposed in video clips from Hollywood hits such as Star Wars, Jerry Maguire, Scream and many more.

Yes, There is Rally Monkey Etiquette.
It's clear that in the last 2 weeks, some of us have been using the Rally Monkey way too much. Now more than ever, we need to pick our spots to help the team along when we really need it or the little guy is going to poop out again.
So, as responsible Rally Monkey owners, let's review and stick to Rally Monkey Etiquette:
The Rally Monkey may quietly watch the Angels only while they are at bat. That way, he can put his full attention on the way the pitcher delivers and pass the scoop on to the Angels batters.
Rally Monkeys are not to watch or go crazy when the Angels are pitching. I saw Troy Percival say this emphatically on a TV interview.
Rally Monkeys are to be "saved" until at least the 7th inning, after which we should expect a lot of monkey business. Remember, baseball is a marathon.
At least one Angel runner has to be on base before the Rally Monkey can go into hysterics.
Never stick the Rally Monkey in a plastic bag, like that fellow did on the televised game the other night or it will kill the rally (which it did). The little guy needs respect!
With the team back from Cleveland, the brief three-game trip should be enough of a break to revive our Rally Monkey and give him a second wind for the balance of this season.
Go Angels!
Best Regards from Monkey SMoto

Rally Monkey Caught Celebrating
Before Saturday's game 4 against the Yankees, the Rally Monkey decided to make his own beer.

As always, the Rally Monkey shared his beer with everyone at the tailgate.

Oh no! He's out of beer. Better go in to the game. Since the Rally Monkey wears no clothes, he has nowhere to keep his wallet, so he begins to "acquire" beer.

Alcohol makes the Rally Monkey feel lonely, reminding him of the old days at Edison Field.

Back to finding more beer...

Uh-oh, without his wallet, the Rally Monkey has no way to prove that he is over 21. Can his fame keep him out of jail? Survey says, "yes."
