What a bunch of idiots. The biggest one is Trapp. He's a punk. I hope he gets his ass kicked December 29. That is, if he's good enough to play. :hmm:
Check out some of these quotes ...
From Jeff Blake:
I mean, they're a good football team, but they're not that good. They didn't stop our offense. We moved the ball up and down the field. We stopped ourselves.
We didn't stop them? What? He threw three interceptions. I'd say that's stopping them.
Yeah, you moved the ball up and down the field. But you had the ball more than the Steelers did, and still only scored 18 points.
Sorry Jeff, that is NOT an effective offense, no matter how much you drive up and down the field. To me, not finishing drives means they're not finishing what they started ... and that is NOT the sign of a good team. Good teams, if they move the ball up and down the field, actually score points.
"But I think we moved the ball very well for a team that had a quarterback find out he was playing just before the game."
Maybe I'm missing something here, but isn't EVERYONE supposed to be ready to play, be ready to come into the game in case of an injury and not lose much?
Big deal if you found out just before the game you were starting ... who cares? You still have to be ready to "move the ball," whether you know you're starting or not. The preparation for Jeff Blake should be no different than it is for Chris Redman.
From Ed Hartwell (who in the world is Ed Hartwell?):
"I don't think they're that much better than us," linebacker Ed Hartwell said. "We just made mistakes, and they capitalized on them. They just did what they're supposed to do. Better than us? No, we came back in the second half and proved they weren't better than us."
This was the worst. I could go off on this for hours.
How are the Steelers not better than the Ravens? They've beaten the Ravens 5 straight times in Baltimore! Good teams win at home, especially with first place on the line.
"They just did what they were supposed to do." Yeah, no kidding. Obviously, the Ravens didn't.
"... proved they weren't better than us." Again, what? Was the score not 31-18? I always thought the better team scored the most points.
And how is a 4-3 team not better than a 3-4 team? I don't quite understand that, either, especially when you take into account the Stillers have pounded the Ravens these past few years.
From Gary Baxter (who?):
But they didn't do anything that just killed us. If we limited our mistakes in the first half the way we did in the second, it would have been a better football game."
Yeah, that's accurate. Forget Maddox being 11-11 ... forget Maddox throwing for 179 yards in around 2 1/2 quarters .... forget the big rushing plays .... forget the interceptions ... forget the fumbles. Clearly, none of these things killed the Ravens.
"If we ..." If Maddox doesn't get hurt, the Steelers win by 30. If the Steelers played in the first half like they did in the second, the Steelers win by 40 (being generous here). If the running game was consisrent, the Steelers win by 30. Who cares about if we do this, if we do that. You didn't, and that's all that counts.
From Bernardo Harris:
"If we played this game again next week, it would be different," linebacker Bernardo Harris said. "That's OK. We've got another chance."
Yep. After they get that chance, and the Steelers crush them once again, we'll hear the same excuses, and I'll get another chance to rant again.
It'll be different, all right. The Steelers will win by 24+ instead of 18.
God, I hate the Ratbirds as Dan calls them. There is not one team on the face of the earth I hate more.
