Report: Finley, Colbrunn to receive offers

The Diamondbacks hope to present contract offers to center fielder Steve Finley and infielder Greg Colbrunn sometime this week, The Arizona Republic reported Oct. 29. "I've been working on some numbers and hopefully can present them later this week," general manager Joe Garagiola Jr. told The Republic. The Diamondbacks retain negotiating rights with their own free agents for the 15-day period following the World Series. Arizona also has until Nov. 6 to announce whether they will pick up reliever Mike Myers' $1.75 million option for 2003. The team already has committed about $65 million to 11 players for next season.
