Never, ever, would Terry Francona, Phillies previous manager, have sent Wolf to the bullpen, Chen to AAA, Byrd to KC,or in any way ruffled any ballplayer's feathers.Regardless if they were stinking up the joint or not; he would quietly, very quietly, whisper in their ear something about improving their performance and then trot them back out there come hell or high water! Bowa is evidently not of the same school of managing[you thought he would be?!?]If a player is not doing the job, he will do the one thing that all players fear the most--he cuts their playing time, or ultimately, just cuts them!I say it's about time that the manager takes control of the players instead of the other way around! What's funny is that the players-with the possible exception of Rolen [more on that subject later!]-seem to be responding to a more disciplined way of running the club;players seem to know that this is what will make the club better and buy into it!Imagine how the prospects now feel knowing that they will actually get an opportunity if they deserve it!
