President John F. Kennedy was shot while riding in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas.

Most of you are too young, and weren't even a glint in your parents' eyes in 1963, but I remember very clearly where I was and what I was doing when I heard.

I was in choir class, my sophomore year in high school. If you saw the episode on "American Dreams" that took place the day JFK was shot..... it was exactly like that.

I'll never forget it.

may he rest in peace. JFK is my favouirte man in history. i do believe that America has never had a president to match. if i could go back into history and meet one person and only one person and spend an entire day with them i would have to say that it would definatly be President Kennedy. honestly i think they should make today a holiday.

I was one year old at the time, so I do not really remember, but I do remember Bobby Kennedy amd Martin Luther King Jr. being shot. I will not get into polotics here and debat Kennedys legacy as a President, but the loss of our had to be a horrible shock. I was devestated when John Lennon was shot, so I can only imagine (no pun intended) what it was like.

39 years ago, I was 8 years old and in the 3rd grade when I heard about President John F. Kennedy getting shot while riding in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas. Just like today, it was also a Friday. Television networks that whole weekend had nothing on but round the clock coverage of events.

I wasn't born at the time. On a side note I understand that they have come up with "new" tapes of the shooting that day. Your suppossed to be able to hear everything?

That was an extremly sad time, it seems every generation is faced with a horrible event to be remembered by.

Imagine when were older and talking to out children and grand children about 9/11.

WOW nanner.... a sophmore in highschool?? that must have made a HUGE impact on you...... it must have been one of the saddest days in history for you, i can't even begin to comprehend what it must be like..... as horrible as it was to experience that, i have to say there is a part of me that wished i was alive during that time.... i don't know what it is like to truly be inspired and affected by a President.... JFK seemed like a genuine Hero and so smart and brilliant but most of all REAL, somebody everyone can relate to..... he lived The Dream and it seemed he gave everyone courage and faith and the belief that anything was possible......... *sigh* i wish i knew what that was like to be so inspired by a living leader.... it must have made you feel so safe and proud and strong..... maybe someday i can witness in my lifetime a leader that will move and inspire me the way JFK did for you and everyone in your generation........

i did see that episode of American Dreams and LOVED it..... something about J.J.'s response made me the most sad......

I was only thirteen months old at the time, so I can't comment on the actual event. But I too have always thought of JFK as one of the great men in our country's history.

There had to be a second spitter on that gravelly road.....
