happy sunday to you all...hope your's is better than mine. my mom went intot he hospital yesterday. she took some mediation that she always takes yesterday morning, only it was a brand new bottle. well, it turns out, the pharmasist made it wrong and almost killed her. she is stiill in the hospital today, not looking any better. the doctors said she would be better by this morning once the meds ran through her body but she's not. her heart rate is still critically low (38-45), she still needs straight oxygen, she's still really really pale, and she's right out of it. she is hallucinating and everything else, she doesn;t even know who each of us are. god i miss my mommy

Poor Jen!! {{{{ }}}}} I'm sure mom will be just fine in a day or two.

What was she supposed to take? What did they give her? Do you have a good lawyer??

Please keep us posted.

it was some kind of hot flash medication. my mommy can't take pills or else she chokes, so they make the pills into liquid form. they made it too strong or forgot to dilute it or something. slowed her heart rate right down. she seems stoned or something. she is hallucinating, she can;t keep her eyes open all the way, she slures, she keeps calling me by someone elses name. she flipped out last night, yelling and screaming and dreaming and stuff, so i got called and i stayed with her and tried to calm her down. she slept this morning from about 8 till about 1....when she woke up she seemed to be better. she pulled out her iv and told them to move her out of intensive care or she was leaving she didn;t care if she had to walk home (thats my mommy! :D ) so she seems to be doing better. hopefully anyway!

as for the lawyer, in canada we can't sue for anything. there is some kinda law or insurance or something that protects docs and pharmaists. god damn government!

At least she's doing better. That's the most important thing.

I hope your Mom gets better real quick. fingers, toes and everything else crossed for a speedy recovery!

Well if you can't sue then somebody better take the pharmacists license away!!! that's crazy.

You can't sue because of the way your insurance runs right? Your insurance is different then ours. you get it thru your goverment or something right?

yeah ours is thru the canadian gov...and because of that the docs and other medical professionals get thier asses covered! it sucks but what can i do? i had surguries and stuff when i was younger, cuz my symptoms were mis diagnosed for a year. because of that i had 4 hips surguries, a knee surgury, spent a year in a wheel chair after the first hip operation, 6 months on crutches after each other surgury. after the first operation the doc wasn;t sure if i would walk again. i was 11 at the time, and after everything i went through the government said "sorry, nothing we can do"
