I must warn you that this picture may be a bit graphic to some.....

Its a picture of my knee and ankle during surgery....

I just got it back and thought it was interesting......

The picture on the top right is a picture of my knee from which they took the cartilage and transplanted it into my ankle....

The top left and bottom right pictures are pictures of my ankle as they were plugging up the holes from where they took the bad cartilage out......

The bottom left is how it looks after they were finished and it was cleaned up.....
If you notice at the very top and the bottom right of the picture in the bottom left (the cleaned up picture) you will notice the 2 screws they inserted where they had to cut the bone...

Though I finds it hard to believe that any part of James can be described as YUCK!!

Awww, thanks Kathleen...Its not all that bad IMO....Its kind neat how they can take pictures like that as they are working on you....Basically I explained everything you will see in my original post....

Go ahead, you know you want to see it;)

Gee thanks for sharing James. Actually, I got to see pictures of my last shoulder surgery and it was pretty cool.

if i ever have surgery i dont wanna see it. it was bad enough seeing the blockage during my dads heart attack thing. it was black and white and only showed the heart and arteries and showing the blood trying to get through. it was kinda interesting but still a little gross.

Ahhh temptation got the best of me. It's not really that bad. Probably cuz I really have no clue what I'm looking at!

When I had my third knee surgery in 1986, the anesthesiologist asked if I wanted just a local and to watch it on a tv monitor. I opted for general.

These days I probably would want to watch it.


I'm gonna take a closer look at James' pictures......when I'm not eating!! :barf:

i was hoping it would be more graphic!!:D

it's too perfect-looking...... like something you'd see in a medical text book..... where's the blood?? where's the ripped tissue??:D
