After a seven game winless streak, they're on a four game winning streak.
Lemieux (flu) and Straka (hamstring) sat out last night's game, but the Penguins still beat the Sabres 4-1. Kovalev had three points (two goals) and Manderville scored .. I forget who had the fourth goal.
The Penguins are now in first place in their division. :D

Boston won 3-2. Hrdina scored for the second night in a row and Ference also scored. Kovalev had two assists.
Both goals were also on the power play. What a shocker that is.

I am still very much afraid of what happens if the referees stop cracking down on the obstruction calls. We saw during a 7 game stretch what happens to this team when they are not getting the power play opportunities. They have the best power play unit in the league, by far. However, I fear that the number of PP chances they are getting is not going to last.
On a side note, defenseman Dick Tarnstrom, who is the highest scoring defenseman in the league as well as near the top among ALL scorers, will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a broken bone in his foot. Definitely NOT a good thing. The worst part is that the injury came in the closing minute of the 4-1 win over the Sabres. With the Pens leading 3-1, he tried to kick a slap shot out and caught it with the wrong spot... There are no plans to replace him on the roster with a player from Wilkes-Barre.

:D Not enough PP opportunities I guess. Sometimes, ya gotta score when the other team is at full strength.
Fun Game though!

Having Dick out really stunk...
He's really been a great pickup....is he still leading the league in points for a defenseman?
