Damn...how about the turnaround they had from last year...3-8 to 9-3? Not bad....
Where did the two QB's in this game go to Shawn? City League schools in Pittsburgh, right?

I don't know about WVU's QB, but Rutherford went to Perry (who by the way gave up 20 points last night and lost).
I remember watching Rutherford play here in Altoona, state championship game I believe it was.

Rutherford did go to Perry. As for Marshall, I know that he went to school in Pittsburgh, but I am not sure where.
Today's game was the 4th time this season in which Pitt moved the ball at will between the 20s, but could not get into the endzone enough times to win the game. They were a prime example today of how badly turnovers can kill you.
For the season, the Panthers were something like 33-59 in the red zone. Was 6th in the Big East. Certainly not something you would want from an upper echelon team which we all hope Pitt is becoming.
I am happy for the season that WVU has had. If nothing else, only because my friends Brenden Rauh (kicker) and Odell Tucker (ILB) both graduated from there. I followed WVU football pretty closely during their years there.
It is really disappointing though to know that Pitt was a good red zone offense away from possibly playing for the NC. Oh well. I am still very happy with this season. Rod Rutherford led the Big East in offensive yards... Larry Fitzgerald, a true freshman, set the Big East TD mark, as well as was totally phenomenal with some catches that were unreal. Not bad for a kid who didn't even start until the 4th game. Kid is 6'3 210 lbs and has a 38 inch vertical.
After finally settling into the starters spot, Brandon Miree had some huge games against the likes of Va Tech (who had the #1 rush defense in the country at the time) Miami, and WVU.
There was also a new record set today for attendance at Heinz Field elclipsing the mark set in last season's AFC championship game with 67,000+ in attendance.
Hail to Pitt.

My friend Zach Dillow, who I graduated with, is the center at WVU, so I am happy for him.
But Pitt has the players. I'm with you Shawn, they were moving the ball all over the field, even on the final drive. They just couldn't score for some reason. It's a shame.

The only Pitt-West Virginia player I know personally is WVU WR AJ Nastasi. He's a senior. His brother, Joe Nastasi, played WR for Penn State.
The field at Heinz looked good. :D

The field at Heinz did look good. I am just hoping it stays that way with all of the precip coming this week.
Dan, that's bullshit, and you know it. Anyone who doesn't think they would be in the hunt for the NC if they were undefeated is either a fool, or lying to themselves.

I could say the same thing about Penn State...I just meant that bringing up the whole NC is just so far in the past now, that's all...

Dan, I know that you are thinking the exact same thing when it comes to PSU. In fact, I know that either you or Josh said basically the same thing last week. Fact is, all of us are correct. Your team, and my team are both basically a couple of plays away from playing for the NC against each other.
