The story also says Littlefield is taking over in the Guthrie negotiations. Jeremy Guthrie was the Pirates second round pick in the past draft.
Scott Boras is his agent so don't expect the bucs to sign him. Last season the Pirates drafted Patrick boyd out of Clemson who was also represented by Boras. they couldn't sign him and he returned to Clemson this past season (and his stock has fallen even more). Look for Guthrie to return to Stanford for his senior season. There are only 3 weeks until classes start there. Once they do, if he goes to class, the Pirates lose his rights to sign him and he will return to the draft next season.

Boras is a real smug $%#@. I saw him on 60 minutes and you'd have thought that the sports world owed him millions since he could make it in the Cards system. Some teams HATE dealing with him and tend to shy away from his FA, even if they are the same $$ as a non-Boras client.
