Jason Jennings came up huge again, this time against the Giants yesterday. In a season where there have been very few bright spots, Jennings has stepped in and done a remarkable job.

While the Rockies can't ask more from Jennings than a 3-0 record and 1.23 ERA through three starts, there are a couple of reasons people should remain guarded about expectations. One is Bryan Rekar. He was the only other Rockies pitcher to come up through the farm system and win his first three big-league starts. Since those three wins, Rekar's big-league record is 20-46.

Another is Coors Field. It probably was no coincidence Rockies management chose this two-week road trip for Jennings' debut. The next time he pitches, Saturday against the Giants, will be his first outing there.

I only had to edit this 500 times to get the table right...
