The Diamondbacks hired Mark Davis as their new bullpen coach on Jan. 17. Davis, the 1989 NL Cy Young Award winner with San Diego, replaces Glenn Sherlock, who will take over as bench coach. Former bench coach Bob Melvin resigned in November to manage the Mariners.
Randy Johnson won his fourth consecutive Warren Spahn Award on Jan. 17.
OF David Dellucci agreed Jan. 17 to a one-year contract, avoiding arbitration.
Former major league INF Steve Lyons was hired Jan. 16 as a television analyst with the Diamondbacks broadcast team. Lyons agreed to a one-year contract. His partners during Arizona's 135 scheduled telecasts will be Jim Traber and Joe Garagiola.
