damn was i wrong about them . The Pistons are for REAL. Losing Stackhouse hasn't hurt them at all. Right now Detroit's probably the toughest team in the East physically and mentally. On paper, Indy should be beating the crap out of them, but in reality we've lost 2 outta 3 to them :notme: :ugh:. Rick Carlisle has done an amazing job with that team .

I hope Indy doesn't meet them in the playoffs...:nah

M_W, I am biased, but I have to agree. Ever since a terrible west coast trip before Christmas 2001, the Pistons have been terrific. They are the hardest working team, night in and night out, in this league. They are not the most talented, but they rarely lose two in a row. They are as tough on the road as anyone. They also have one of the best records in the NBA in back-to-back games.

Carlisle and Joe Dumars have done an amazing job molding this team. Nearly everyone in a uniform has a chance to play each night and they just never give up. I have walked away from games they had no chance of winning, imo, only to find out they pulled out another win in the last minute.

On the downside, they have little to no low-post game. They also get a bit three point happy at times, but I think every team does.

The Pacers/Pistons series is becoming a nice rivalry. You've got plenty of talent in Indy, as well. It feels like a playoff game when they play each other. I look forward to the next game. Hopefully, it will have the same intensity the last two games have had.

Thanks for giving the Pistons some credit, M_W. It's nice to see someone respecting the opposition.

I told you they'd be up there still milkman. :D I did think they'd be a seed or two lower though. But a team with this much depth, and chemistry is hard to dismantle. They still need a scorer, and they have Memphis's first rounder next year, which should be high, that they can use to trade for a scorer. But even if they don't, it'll still be a great race to watch the rest of the year, between the Pistons and Pacers.

I'd written them off after the trade of Stack, but they just keep winning. They are definatly for real. And Ben Wallace is still a beast. :2guns:
