I was just wondering what people think of our current staff and what ideas they have. Here is my current choices:

1. Kris Benson
2. Kip Wells
3. Josh Fogg
4. Jeff D'Amico
5. Solomon Torres/Dave Williams

I know there are some Brian Meadows fans out there that think he should/will make it. I like Brian and he pitched well for us last year, but he just does not have the stuff that any of the above bring to the table. He is similar to Fogg, but I do not think his control was quite as good. Torres, if he can get his control down, has the stuff to be a number 2 or 3 starter. That will be the big if. I am sure the Bucs would love Williams to gain his form of 2 years ago to add a solid lefty to the staff. He may not be ready for the rotation at the beginning of the year though, so it could very well be a 5 right hander starting rotation. IThe outside shot here is Arrojo if Torres, Williams, or Meadows (who will could very well make it if he has the stronger spring) do not quite cut it. This will be an interesting year. We have a chance for a very solid 5 man rotation, and while I think Vogelsong will start in AAA, there is a chance he will make it by the All Star break if any of the starters falter. Fogg will be the one to watch of the people who seem to have a slot locked up. Can he repeat last year or improve on it? Many people crash and burn in their sophmore outings!

I'd switch D'Amico with Fogg. I think that puts Fogg in a better position to succeed.

I think Meadows, if he pitches well in the spring, deserves a spot in the rotation. He reminds me of Todd Ritchie.

Other than that I agree with everything you said. Fogg still has some things to prove in my book. The starting five, as you said, could be pretty good. If Fogg pitches like he did last year, I think the pitching staff as a whole will be very good.
