Well, only three people voted the last round, and two voted for Robinson, so he's the one to go. Poll will close Friday, January 24.
Fifteenth place: Satchel Paige becomes the first Negro Leage player inducted into the HOF
Fourteenth place: Blue Jays' Joe Carter ends 1993 World Series with a walk-off homer off Mitch Williams
Thirteenth place: Nolan Ryan pitches his 7th no-hitter at age of 44
Twelfth place: Pete Rose breaks Ty Cobb's career hit record
Eleventh place: Mark McGwire & Sammy Sosa battle to break Maris' single season homerun record
Tenth place: Don Larsen throws a Perfect Game in the 1956 World Series
Ninth place: Jackie Robinson breaks baseball's "color barrier"

I had problems with this one but choose "Kirk Gibson wins Game 1 of 1988 World Series with a pinch-hit walk-off homer"

Hyzdu --- yeah, I'm disappointed in this voter's turnout as well ... I'm one of the two who voted Robinson's breaking the color barrier off the Addicts Island ... Remarkable achievement, but I've always looked at it more as a social achievement instead of a pure baseball moment or event ... But wait and see; once these polls are over, there will be someone who didn't vote who will chime in with their two cents at that time.
This round, I went with Maris' 61 ... I looked at the "survivors" and tried to imagine, "If I was in a coma for 12 months and woke up, what would be the first-second-third, etc., event on the list I'd recall?"
I drew a blank, so maybe I'm in a coma right now ... Sat and thought about each one and the group as a whole, and finally came up with Maris for this time ... It's an incredibly tough method we're using to get down to our top moment ... A lot more difficult, in my opinion, than jstpicking something as #1 and being done with it ... At first I wasn't sure I liked the "survivor" process, but now I think it provokes more consideration and debate within one's own mind and heart.

I went with Maris here.
I think it's remembered more for "61 in '61" than hitting 61 homers. Fair or not, I think that's the way it's remembered.
6 votes now, which doubles what we had the last round.

I voted Cal off. How is that a moment? He showed up to work.
I know some Cal people will bash me, but hey, I show up at work every day too, and I don't get a 4 month break every year. JMO.

Princess, I'm a Cal fan but at this point I'm not sure how anyone can say one moment is the clear cut winner over another ... They're all great events to me, heck, the entire original list made me happy.
Personal note: When Cal broke the record I went down to Human Resources and checked through my file to count the sick days I'd taken during the span ... My count was 26 days (1982-96), which I didn't think was too bad at all ... Eight of those days was for various funerals, and five more were for a knee surgery and a car wreck ... Granted, Ripken's work year was but 7 months or so long, and mine was 12 ... But I didn't have engineers sliding into my knees trying to take me out of my drafting table or technicians throwing high and hard soldering irons at my rib-cage for crowding the desk.
