Tigers Add Former Triple-A All-Star to Camp Roster

DETROIT (Jan. 29) -- The Detroit Tigers agreed to a minor league contract with infielder Kevin Witt on Wednesday and invited him to spring training.
Witt hit .263 with 24 homers and a league-leading 107 RBI at Triple-A Louisville last season and was an International League All-Star.
He was third in the league with 57 extra-base hits and 240 total bases, and his home-run total ranked fourth.
The 27-year-old was selected by Toronto in the first round of the 1994 amateur draft. He has hit 23 or more homers in each of his past six seasons in the minor leagues.
In 34 games with the Blue Jays and San Diego Padres, Witt hit three homers with 10 RBI.
