I found this on another board and it too be a very good question.

So what kind of fan are you.

A) You kinda look like that Jared dude from the Subway commercials. You go to games wearing your favorite Simpsons (or Alf) shirt. You sport an hat of your team, and you bring a transitor radio (with earpiece) with you. You arrive early in your conversion van so you can get in and grab some hot dogs and a soda before the lines get too long. You then sit there the entire game not saying a word, thinking about what you're going to post on the message board tomorrow.

B) You arrive early so you can tailgate, eat some real food, and knock down 6-10 beers and a half of a pack of smokes. You wear a jersey of your team, and a hat if it's a Sunday game and you didn't have time to shower., and then hit up a beer vendor as soon as you get in the stadium. You decide, after getting up in the 3rd inning to take another leak (and have a smoke), that it would be a good idea to go to the Encore after the game.

C) You arrive early with 2 kids so you can eat some hot dogs and chips in the parking lot and toss the ball around. You get in the stadium early so you can buy your kids souvenirs and sodas. You enjoy your experience at the game even though you dropped $200 bucks, and you had to sit in between that wierd guy with the radio and the guy that kept buying beers and getting up to take a leak.

D) You're a college student who goes to the game (with your glove) and shouts things that only you and your buddies think is amusing. You don't spend any money on food or drink. You spend the time between innings looking for "Freeway" so you can stand up and yell "Freeway!".

E) None of the above. Explain.

B best describes me, except we don't tailgate at Fenway, we barhop. I arrive generally 2 hours before game time, eat, and booze.

But I also vent and cheer loudly all game, get up to pee, smoke, and get beer occasionally.

I fit in as none of the above.I bring a radio .but I don't always turn it.

You may think that makes me an A type but the only thing.

Usely I will get to park early and enter with the opening of the doors and head streat up to the terrence leval.I'm friends with a bunch of ushers and I spend time chating them and after a short time I head down to the Loge leval for I know quit a few of the usher down there too. A once I'm though there if I'm hungery I'll go see my friend John the Ticket taker for a dew deck stub so I can go up there to get Free Food.

Then game time I head up to the terrence and find a seat close to one of the users that I'm freands with and I say about 3 Innings when I head down to the Loge where I seat down by my buddy Allen. And I say tell though the top of the 8th.So I can say goodbye to all my friends and take a little time doing it.

I drink beer, listen to the radio and I keep score...all while wearing my favorite player's jersey, a hat and earrings. :D

E) None of the Above

Get there early for BP ... Bring my glove and occasionally a radio ... Once they started searching backpacks following 9-11, my contraband decreased ... Used to take in my own sandwiches, peanuts, beverage ... But now just a sandwich baggie of nuts (people are very jealous of me when I start crackin' open pistachio's) and maybe a half-pint of rum to spice up my $5 soda.

Only been a month now that I've been without the ciggy's, but I stopped going out for smokes a while back since it got to be so hemorrhoidal on the lower deck of Arthur Andersen Memorial Stadium ... Rarely buy anything more than a couple of soft drinks or a couple of beers, so I don't have to leave my seat most of the time during a game.

I keep score about half the time ... But I always harass the opposition's left-fielder a lot (my seats were in the Crawford Boxes, that little section that most people think 67 homers per game land at Arthur Andersen Memorial) ... Also used to harass Moises "El Pollo" Alou when he played LF for Houston ... Bobby Bonilla was always a good sport when I'd holler at him ... Rickey Henderson gave me the #1 sign a couple of times.

Also shout instructions and criticisms at the umpires ... Froemming is an especially favorite target of mine these days now that Eric "Hey-Hey-Hey!" Gregg is no longer employed as a game arbiter ... Stay until the end, then make fun of Milo Hamilton on the drive home while he gives his ridiculous recap of the game on the postgame radio show.

i am a mixture between b,c,d. i sport all the gear, as in b.... i really enjoy the game, and enjoy getting there early to toss a ball around as in c (although it's usally with my uncle or my friends cuz i don;t have any kids), and i am a silly college kid who brings my glove hoping to catch a homerun or a foul that never comes my way, and me and my uncle or my friends crack jokes about things that are funny only to us. does that qualify me for e? lol

my friends would be the ones who would be the drunk college kids who would shout anything at the players. like Triple A and stuff like that. stupid stuff. lol

of course, they were also the ones who would get thrown out of the game in the third inning for being overly drunk. :D

the best chant was "DARRRRRYL, DARRRRRYL" :)

I guess I'm an E.

Show up three hours early, eat some food and drink lots of beer at a pub before the game, enter the park 15 minutes before game time, drink more beer and eat more food, and cheer for my team without making much of a scene.

I am a combination of All of the Above.

Just sort of depends on my mood. Although, I never EVER would sit silently through an entire game and not say a word. If I happen to be poor that week, I get inside and sit in the cheapest seats I can, don't buy anything inside, and make lots of noise.

On a good rich day, I will tailgate in the parking lot, which involves footballs, frisbees, beer, burgers (I don't eat hot dogs) then get inside and buy myself a Primantti Brothers Sandwich before the first pitch is thrown. Sometimes, I will buy a beer, sometimes not. Occassionally part way through we will get a bucket of wings, but not too often. All depends on the mood and the hunger level (which is a direct correlation with the beer consumption and the playing ability of the Buccos on that particular day. )

The only thing that NEVER EVER happens is the smoking part. EWWW... I have never touched one of those things.

Gee, what do you have against Cedeño?! :D

In Houston, we learned in 1986 not to do the "Darrrrrrrrrryl, Darrrrrrrrrryl" chant ... Strawberry was sure to jack one about 450' when it happened.

I'm none of the above. I tend to go with family or friends that are into sports so we watch the whole game. I never leave early. I attend a couple of games a year, but I watch a lot on tv. I guess I'll be turning into the c one though. I have 2 children now, a daughter 3 and a son who just turned 1. Hopefully I'll be able to be a C without dropping $200. That's a lot for a lowly high school teacher.
