I sat next to a really die hard Tiger fan this summer, at the August 7th game between the Tigers and Rangers, i remember the date cause it was my birthday! haha but back to the guy, he showed me their farm system and it looks like 2-4 years down the road, we will have a respectable team.... we just have to keep hoping that we can turn things around!!!! GO TIGERS.... 2 months til things get goin!!!!

I'm a huge Tiger fan, I'm from Troy but I'm going to school in the UP at NMU so unfortunately I can't attend as many games as I once did. I live up here during the summers as well so I was only able to attend one game last year. Here's hoping that Pena has a huge year and Palmer really is healthy.:D

Welcome to the Tigers' forum, nmuman. Yes, let's hope Pena becomes the superstar everyone thought he was 365 days ago and Palmer, Young, Higgy and the boys have a much better year in '03.
Hope you and boudz decide to hang around.

Have been reading posts on this board for a about a year now, and with the sudden explossion of Tiger fans, I decided to follow everyone jumping off the bridge. I really hope the Tigers are better this year, and it wouldn't take much. Can't wait to start reading boxscores again.

Welcome, GergPeabs. Glad you joined us. I'm ready for some boxscores, too.
Hi, PP! Thanks for the support. As always, I hope the Sox have a great season, too.

I hope the Tigers do well this year. It's been killing my father. He won't even talk about them anymore because he's been so ticked off.
He was glad to hear that Trammell and Parrish and Gibby are back in the fold though. Let's hope the old magic will come back.

LF, it's much harder to take the Tigers' demise when you can recall much better years. He sounds like a great many of the old time Tiger fans. They don't want to think much about the current group wearing the Olde English D, either.
I hope for your dad's sake, and ours, that the Tigers can provide us with some enjoyment this season.

I sure hope so. I remember going to a Tigers/Yankees game at the Bedpan in 1984, and there were only a handful of people in the entire place (that was back in the days when the Yankees couldn't draw flies). It was the last day of the season, and the Tigers had clinched the division back on April 15. Dave Winfield and Don Mattingly provided some excitement though. They were battling for the batting crown, and the Yankee fans rooted for Winfield, while we Tiger fans cheered on Mattingly.
That was a fun day!

There wa sa great article in my local paper the other day how fans are very excited this season at least down here.....
They have sold a ton of tickets to the ST games in Lakeland this year......Moreso than in any other year recently...
Fans are excited about the renovations to the stadium and Trammel as the manager......
At least there is excitement in the air....
Good luck Tigers:thumbsup:

Good luck Tigers:thumbsup: Really? It seems like around here, everyone's thinking of every local team except the Tigers. But i guess i'm starting to get excited, more for the new young infeild, than anything. It'll be an interesting year.

There is some buzz about Tram, Parrish and Gibby, but if they lose at the same pace as recent Tiger teams, especially right out of the gate, you have to wonder how long memories will sustain that interest?
