Kevin is still not going to convince people until his average and clutch hitting return to what they were 2 years ago. His take on the fans is a little bit cold as well...

jimbo, i am a bit confused here. What comments about the fans? The only one i saw was about the fans learning that when they are playing baseball not to leave. I don't think of that as cold, but rather as him saying "hey, it ain't over til the fat lady sings.

I'd like to see KY make a good showing but as a part-time 1Bman and PHitter. Some of his ABs should be given to C. Wilson; let's see what the kid can do. If we put up with KY's 20+ errors over the past 2 years, we can put up with Wilson's learning experience as well.

Hey Shawn ... welcome.
Jimbo--I also don't remember any comments by KY?
And KY had some hits again tonight. I really do think he is starting to come around. When he was hot, he would drive the ball to right center. And in the past few games, he's been driving the ball to right center a lot. Had a hit out there tonight as a matter of fact.

Reportedly, on the post game show, he made some very cold remarks that got dressed up by the interviewer. He sounded bitter, I am told. Since I was not there to hear the comments, I must have faith in my sources and there were plenty of people talking about it. The ESPN board was lit up all morning on it...

I was enroute home from a little league tourney an hour away from home last night, and was listening to the Bucs on the radio for a change. The comeback was tremendous, and the post-game interviewee was aptly Kevin Young who had a nice game, and whose second double was huge for the Bucco win. Young's interview went swell, until the end of it.
Bob Walk thanked Young for "sending the Bucco faithful home with smiles on their faces." Young quickly shot back, "Yeh, the few of them who actually stuck around to see it." Walk tried to redeem the situation by adding, "Now, now, that Clemente Bridge is still packed as I look out at it right now." Young then added a "Yeh, whatever."
...this was part of a post by macosunnybuc at ESPN. There are few people that I will ALWAYS read over there, but maco is one of them. He has a great insight and is honest in his opinions and reactions to things. I fully respect his outlook and thoughts on issues regarding the Pirates. It was my main source, although I did hear from other posters at various forums the same kind of thing.

Here is a copy of my reply to maco regarding the incident:
Maco, I think that Kevin Young's bitterness has much more to do with his personal life and the tragedy there... he is just allowing it to effect everything around him. He is distraut. I have seen men go through this in my own experience, friends of mine that had some kind of tragic loss. They become bitter to the point of reacting harshly to anything and everything else in their lives. Some have turned to the bottle, others some other vice, some even take their own lives to make the pain go away. I truly believe that Young's troubles are deeper and more involved than anyone realizes. He is a human being that is trying to deal with this awful hurt inside...
Personally, I am choosing to cut him some slack for his inner rage.
