After 24 years in baseball, Jim Beattie decided he wanted to take a break and spend more time with his kids. That's funny, 'cause that's what I thought he was doing - he sure wasn't doing anything to help the Expos. This franchise is in dire straights.

Hey ... who can blame him, right? I sure wouldn't want to be a part of the Expos.

This is just so wrong, all the way around. You probably know from things I've posted elsewhere that I used to be a big 'Spos fan some years ago, when the only baseball we had here in Colorado was their AAA team. Brochu trashed this organization so bad, that no one could have saved it. Beattie actually made some decent trades and such, but ignored (imo) other things, such as signing people to longer term contracts, and letting their minor system, which used to be the best in MLB, fall into oblivion. Now, their current owner, Loria, is just a greedy businessman, looking for a way to either dump the team or relocate it. The city of Montreal is not helping, and the fans (what fans?), who used to pack the Big "O", know that ownership will never put a respectable team on the field. The people of Montreal deserve so much better.
