Roster contest

If you guys remember, Shawn ran the same thing at HB last spring, if I remember correctly. I think 00 won, but my memory isn't that good --- if Rick won, I'm sure he'll be quick to tell you. ;)

This year's 25 man roster is much more definite than last year's, but there's still some open spots.

I wanted to wait until the OF situation was settled, and with Sanders signing the outfield is solidified.

Anyway, I think we'll run the same system Shawn did last year. Which was, if memory serves, 3 points for each correct player. The competition will end March 14, which is a Monday I believe. It's two weeks before the season starts. All posts can be edited until then.

I hope we can edit these before the final date. With a good Spring D'Amico could bump Torres to the pen and Meadows could wind up in the pen or on the roster. Sanchez could suplant Meadows or Gonzalez in the pen if he is here and throwing. I think we go with 2 lefties in the pen so that was why I went with Gonzalez. Beimel could also fill this spot. He pitches well out of the pen if we would leave him there.

Josh, my scoring system was a bit more in depth than that.

3 Points for every roster spot
5 Points for each member of the starting rotation
10 points for correctly naming the starting staff
5 points for the opening day starter
15 points for the correct opening day starting lineup.

By no means do we have to use this system, but I think it make it a bit more of a challenge.


Oh.. btw, rick and I tied for the win last season...;)

I don't think you're right about that, Shawn. DL said Saturday there was no deadline for Lofton to sign ... and that was reiterated on Sportsbeat tonight. Unless it JUST came off the table, I think it's still there.

According to KDKA news last night, DL has said that he was going to wait until the end of the weekend and if he hadn';t signed by then, he wasn;t going to.

Wow, I didn't even think I had won a share of it last season. I thought it was Shawn and someone else . . . but if no one is going to dispute it, then I have no problem taking credit. :) (Also, if I did indeed tie for the victory last season, than we might as well use Shawn's scoring system :cool: )
