Angels' Reach Deal With Rodriguez
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Rookie Francisco Rodriguez, an overnight success for the Anaheim Angels during their drive to the World Series title, agreed to a one-year contract.
Minor league pitchers Bobby Jenks, Mickey Callaway and Rich Fischer, and outfielder Robb Quinlan also agreed to deals with the Angels on Thursday.
Rodriguez was called up by Anaheim last September and pitched just 5 2/3 innings in the regular season before going 5-1 in the postseason. At 20, he became the youngest pitcher ever to win a World Series game. He turned 21 on Jan. 7.
