Let's hope there is. Last thing Pirate fans need is to have this season to remember until April or longer.

haha even them playing as they are is better than having them not play at'all. are they at 100 losses yet?? the first year at pnc park and the bucs lose 100 who'd have thunk it. shoosh i dont think there will be a work stoppage theres to much money involved the owners will cave.

Actually a lockout might let us give some young guys more time in AAA, since we seem to be overly anxious to run them up to the big leagues even if they're not yet ready to be exposed to that level.

The Pirates should Have Benson and Cordova back next year, what about this Bobby Bradley they say he has the best curveball in the game? I dont know about that, but i here he is good maybe you should give him a look this Spring Training. No Offense but i dont think the pirates will do much in the Free Agent Market or make a big trade.

I doubt Cordova will be brought back. He won't even be ready to pitch until 2003.

Bobby Bradley also will not be ready next season. He had surgery and will probably start at A ball and if he does well, move up to AA.

As for not doing much in the free agent market, what about Derek Bell? ;)

Benson won't be available until the middle of the season either and Vogelsong is done for all of 2002.

shoosh! with all the injuries they have had maybe time off will help them. soon they wont have a team if they keep having so many guys out for whole years like benson and now vogelsong. Maybe they should just forfit the next two years....

2002 will at best be a transition year for us. With 3 potential starters out for the 2002 campaign and a couple of under performers finishing out the string, we probably shouldn't expect too much. Maybe a 10-12 win improvement for a 72-90 record. If Benson and Vogelsong come back for 2003 and we can use some of the money freed up by the pantloads we currently have taking up space, I'd look for a .500 or better record in 2003.

i hope next year will be the last "rebuilding" year for awhile i have had enough of those. Its my hope that at LEAST they can avoid as many season ending injuries.
