SARASOTA, Fla. (March 3) -- The Cincinnati Reds agreed to terms of a one-year contract with infielder Felipe Lopez on Monday.

Financial details were not announced.

Lopez was acquired by the Reds in December as part of a four-team trade that involved Toronto, Arizona and Oakland. The Blue Jays sent Lopez to the Reds, who traded pitcher Elmer Dessens to Arizona.

The 22-year-old Lopez batted .227 with eight homers and 34 RBI last season.

Also, right-handed pitcher Paul Wilson is expected to miss seven to 10 days with a strained rib cage muscle in his left side. He was hurt during an intrasquad scrimmage Wednesday.

The Reds signed Wilson as a free agent during the offseason. He was 6-12 last year with a 4.83 ERA for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
