Well, here's my question fellow Tigers fans, is Cornejo ever going to live up to expectations? Is he even going to be a dependable MLB starter? I realize he's still pretty young, but he seems destined for AAA stardom.

After being all but given a starting role last spring, he proceed to stink up Lakeland and ended up back with the MudHens. This year, with the race for starting pitching wide open, his arm is tired (which may be an injury) and he cannot find the plate. Trammell made him pitch in a simulated game before allowing him to pitch in a live game again.

I am probably over-reacting to the whole situation, but the Tigers really could use Cornejo right now. He has shown little more than flashes at Comerica Park and the ballclub needs so much more than that. I'm just disappointed the guy can't even seem to lock down a spot in the rotation.

This will be his last year to prove he can pitch before they let him go IMO. If he doesn't make it here, i do think he will have succes at another team. He has shown flashes of greatness. But those were too few.

The talent and Sinker are definatly there. I think the Tigers need to find out how to get it out of him. Whether it be coaching or a demotion to get confidence again.

How about a little shock therapy?

The guy has terrific stuff. I hope for his sake and for Tigers' fans sakes, he straightens things out. The pitching staff as a whole has so much talent, it's just a matter of getting things worked out. For some of these guys, they may never work it out.
