The University of Nebraska at Omaha failed to get a bid to the North Central Region tournament Monday despite its 20-10 men's basketball record.
The Mavs were trying for their second straight NCAA Division II regional tournament berth. It was also their second straight 20-win season.
Two teams that the Mavericks beat in the North Central Conference tournament received bids.
North Dakota, which lost to the Mavs in the first round, and South Dakota State, which lost to UNO in the semifinals, got an-large bids.
NCC champion St. Cloud State received the automatic berth. St. Cloud beat the Mavs 88-78 on Saturday night in the NCC final.

Other teams in the region are Metro State, Fort Lewis and Fort Hays State from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and Minnesota-Duluth, the champion of the Northern Sun.
UNK will play Minnesota-Duluth on Friday. South Dakota State will play Fort Hays State, Fort Lewis will play Metro State and North Dakota will play St. Cloud State.
Northwest Missouri State will play Missouri Western in the South Central Region tournament. The host school is Tarleton State in Stephenville, Texas.
