I am a casual NASCAR fan. I pay attention to who wins and I watch a few races, but I certainly do not follow it like I follow baseball or hockey. GO TEAM GIBBS!!!!

My answer is very similar to "I are Baboon", I only watch it if there is nothing else on, and even then its not as if I really mind who wins.

I actually must disagree with the non-athletic part of your statement, Ray. I actually used to think the same way as you do until I went to see a live race last summer. Spent 3 days in Watkins Glen NY watching these guys. These guys pretty much spend a couple of hours every day in the gym, and are actually in some great physical shape. I came away with an entire new respect for those guys. The strain that one of those cars puts on your body over an entire race is certainly nothing to laugh at. Especially when you are having to shift and go around 11 turns in different directions over the course of 5 hours.

As for the redneck comment, the only thing really redneckish about a NASCAR crowd is the fact that they never stop drinking beer the entire weekend. From what I have heard about your drinking habbits, it just may be a perfect sport for you..:D
