I assume you want both leagues. Single season record - AL Ty Cobb - 9 and NL Sam Crawford - 12.

Career-wise the record holders are Ty Cobb with 46 in the AL, in the NL it's Tommy Leach with 49 and in the ML it's Sam Crawford with 51.
