The Rockies outfielder notched a hat trick, winning his third National League batting title with a .350 average. Unfortunately, the accomplishment was muted by Colorado's last-place finish in the NL West.

"They're all kind of miserable," said Walker, who sat out the final two games. "I am like any other guy. I'm not going to sit here and be all joyful about stuff that I've done when we're going home."

This latest batting title is his third in four years and the fifth by a Rockies player since the franchise's inception in 1993. Andres "El Gato Grande" Galarraga claimed the first crown during the inaugural season (1993), while first baseman Todd Helton took the honors last season.
